Thankful

*not my video (obviously) it's yoinked from youtube and sorry I couldn't find the clip from the VeggiTale itself*

While the picture debacle presses on I figured I'd share a cute thing about the mini-one. Our hope is to make her see the joy in the everyday and to love life and be thankful for what she has while being generous. blahblahblah

Every night we say prayers before she goes to bed and of late we've asked her what she'd like to thank God for that day. After we thank God for whatever the list is du jour she says 'thank you God for everything. Amen' An apt way to end a day we think. So for your enjoyment a list of things she's thankful for. By no means is this inclusive I'm sure. After all I'm old and forgetful and not nearly clever enough to have written them down nightly so we could keep track of the cuteness.

Slainte kitty
Keely dog
eyes (typically this is preceded by some sort of pronoun like "her eyes")
light
lamby
penguin
mommy
daddy (yeah it took awhile for us to be on the list)
Grammy
Mumsy
Uncle Kit
Grandmom
food(sometimes food in general and sometimes something more specific)
this (points at something random)
stars
feet
hands
necklaces
books
blankets
pillows
the house (either her playhouse or the house we live in)
computers
her bed
perlompsing
yogurt
....

The list could go on I'm sure. But there's at least a handful a night, with many repeats and much silliness. But I've got to say she comes up with them on her own, after being asked what she wants to thank God for that day, and I'm pretty impressed with what she spits out. Like the song says, "A happy heart is a thankful heart."

an update...of sorts

Well it's been awhile and I promise to do a real post with pictures and stuff soon. Sadly the computer that holds the pictures died a sudden and tragic death. Thankfully we were able to rescue the pictures onto the back up drive before giving it over to a friend for parts.

Alex's eye surgery bit went quite well. It was a bone obstruction. So she hadn't grown out of it yet because she never would have. All is well now though and her eyes drain just as they should. We kind of look forward to her next cold so we can find out what it's like to not have to wipe mucus from her eyes.

In other news she's a clumsy one but doing very well. Lovin' life and snow and everything. Just as it should be. Well hopefully I'll figure out this getting pictures from the back up drive and onto the interwebs thing soon. In the meantime all is well in Alex land, which means that all is well in our world.
